Love the match between the tone of the sky and the underside of the bridge - my eye at first saw it as an interesting abstract, which then resolved into an interesting an interesting natural artifact.

at a glance, the thumbnail looked like a lake reflection on an angle.

Any thoughts on composition or what could make it better generally?

Guess you got us all, Erik. The thumbnail is a different image altogether. I like the composition and the muted colors. Using the bridge to divide the image into two halves along its diagonal works well here. Too bad there wasn't a person crossing to give it a perspective, but it's also great the way it is.
