I wasn't really trying hard to get a good photo. Just experimenting

with low light photos in a night club. I took about 100 shots, this

is one of the better ones. Exposure 1s, F/3, no flash, no

manipulation of image. Camera Kodak DC290.

Low light shots in club are not easy, but you are on a good start here. As you can see, you got a fairly sharp result in the right part of the image because the spot light painted someone with the correcte amount of light for a short period of time. That's the whole idea when you can't use flash. Study the light systems, they always move around in a set pattern for a while. Take your readings first at the moment the light hits your subjects the way you want and the shoot on the second "pass" so to speak. That way you can get something like this. There are a few other examples in the same folder, especially the early stuff since I did not have a flash before a good while at the time and I did use a point and shoot.

Had a look at your folder... some really great shots there. I hope to have a D100 soon which will give me a lot more control over exposure (the DC290, is really just a P&S)... although having heard the stories about dust & the sensor it may not be the best environment for this camera.

Still... I guess you'll never get a really great photo unless you are willing to punish your equipment.
