Thank you all for very kind comments. This image is one of a series that sat waiting for my ‘digital darkroom’ skills to improve. This young male lion was pacing backwards and forwards along the worn track just 1 metre away. Every 15 seconds or se he would stop and make eye contact with someone from the crowd of people looking at him from the dark observation area. It was very impressive and moving to make such an intimate contact.

Amazing shot Mike. The moment your shutter 'clicked', you captured an intimacy between you and the Lion that I can't even put into words. (there's a first!). So deep in thought ... a gentleness of expression .... very moving. I'm sure every time you look at it ... that one unique moment in time, will stay with you always.
