mcclure 0 Posted September 13, 2008 The title adds an interesting edge but the image stands on its own. Exceptional B&W - the composition is pure art. Congrats!!! Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted September 13, 2008 Gordon: How can they get any better than this one. Even my obsession about lines and organized composition has been fulfilled while i view it. Striking image also because there is nothing to look at in the same time as there is bunch of stuff to be viewed. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 13, 2008 Absolutely bloody fantastic! I agree with Tero. I love simple, minimalist compositions with lots of little details that can hold my attention and this is a really great example. The black panel on the far left is so essential to the composition. gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 13, 2008 This was in actuality a corner office. The black panel Ian mentioned is the sky. I had a polarizer on the lens to ride the window of reflections and it turned the sky deep blue in the colour version. It seemed natural during PP to push that section a bit and turn it solid black. I originally saw this shot the day before and since it was a short walk from my hotel room, I waited until late afternoon the following day to hopefully get some better lighting. I was really pleased with how the side lighting split the window blind in the window and turned the window into two narrow upright sections. I should get out of the woods more often. I found the urban landscape filled with fascinating geometry. Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 14, 2008 "I should get out of the woods more often. I found the urban landscape filled with fascinating geometry." After taking a break from creating new work, I have been trying to expand my portfolio of night images of the Portlands here in Toronto this past week or so and have to admit they give me just as much of a thrill as any of the images I made out in the wilds. pnital 36 Posted September 14, 2008 This is a perfect ballanced composition in every aspect. The B/W colors are subdued yet well accentuating the form and textures. The light and shadow are spot on, and different way of creating ..;-)) Link to comment
jbidarra 0 Posted September 14, 2008 Excelent photo. Amazing geometric composition. I like the black (no light) line on the left and the very good light and shadows work. Great textures on the wall and great contrast an bw tones. Congratulations and Regards. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 15, 2008 Fantastic work here, Gordon. You've used the geometric qualities of the scene to an expert end. I love the black panel on the left, which offers a little figure-ground reversal mental trick. The right-most, bowed-out panel also offers a visual sleight of hand. And the texture is so crisply captured, I feel like I've rubbed my eyes on sandpaper (but in a good way). Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. Link to comment
