iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Anish, I thought this was absolutely stunning in colour. But, I think the B&W has stolen my heart. The water and your dodging of it seems so wonderful in this and I like how the mountain peaks -- while still a highlight -- are now decidedly the secondary interest behind the stream. Great image. iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Hmm . . . now I can't find the colour version. I hope you simply deleted it and I'm not thinking of someone else's work! Link to comment
jefvandenhoute 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Great landscape capture. The light play, the composition and the tone rendering are superb Link to comment
anish 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks for the comments, guys. Ian, I did post then delete the color version. With dodging and burning in B&W, I was able to create the flow and balance I wanted. I couldn't quite get that with the color version, so I chose this one. Thanks again. Anish Link to comment
brian_goodman 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Excellent Anish. The composition and tones work really well. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted September 9, 2008 This is really very, very good! Your composition and careful post-processing really leads the eye into this so very nicely; right to the pot-of-gold - the light on the Palisades. Excellent black and white conversion. Nice and contrasty with excellent tones. One of your best images; and its headed into my 'Favorites' right now. Well done, Anish. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted September 9, 2008 I think the color version was effective. The only thing lacking for me was something (clouds) of interest in the bald sky. Well, we photogs are cursed on occasion with that emptyness above. When converted to b&w, however, the dark gradient sky becomes a plus somehow. Of course, there is alot more going on here than just a sky. Your discriminating use of dodge and burn has transformed a great subject into something compelling, enchanting and pretty much off-the-charts beautiful. Well done in all aspects Anish!
