These are beautiful creatures and you've captured this one nicely. Thanks for sharing. It's cool that with such a flat animal in this orientation you can keep the whole butterfly in focus while still having such a narrow DOF. How far away were you?

Nice picture! I was intrigued because I had never seen a butterfly like this before. Showing it from the side like this was a great idea. I like the way you set up the composition to create the effect of being able to see through the wing without letting the background be too detailed or distracting. Good job. J.
