nickgraham 0 Posted September 2, 2008 Where were you? I commend your bravery. It looks like you were five yards away! Link to comment
r l 0 Posted September 2, 2008 I was more than 30m up to the hill. This is long distance shot. I have cropped 50% of FF which give you filing that I was close to the bears :) Regards Ralf Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 2, 2008 A real pro would use a 24mm! ;>) You were in a great spot; one bear is in a perfect pose, while the other two need to move a bit to be more photogenic. Sometimes it takes patience and luck to get three independent animals to simultaneously show their best sides. Link to comment
dirtlawyer 0 Posted September 3, 2008 Steve, let's see. You hold the camera in one hand, the whip in another, and the chair.... Oh, well, I guess this photo is the best you can get. BTW, it's a great capture. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 4, 2008 Gerald, I can guarantee that if Ralf had used a 24mm, all of the bears would have been looking in the same direction, and the problem with the two closest bears would have been solved. Unfortunately, Ralf probably would subsequently have had difficulty posting the photo for others to see. Link to comment
pat_duclos 0 Posted February 5, 2009 This is a wonderful photo..I only wish I could have been there to watch these bears frolic. I am wondering if you might have been in the Tetons when you took this photo. We once saw a female adult bear take a bath in a lake in the Park where we were kayaking. The only camera accessible was out of film. It was a thrill anyhow. I am wondering what lens and camera you were using. Since you cropped this 50% and it is still sharp it must have been a good lens. You said you were about 30m away and that is not very far. You must have felt quite a thrill. Good work. pd Link to comment
