This is an amazing photograph. Very well done.

However, I think that composition is only half the battle to create a truly amazing work of art; context is the other half. I think that the politicization of this photograph detracts a bit from its overall "greatness."

Without that first post, I'd be sold completely.

What a powerful image. Could I just suggest one thing though? Your skill as a photographer and artist conveys such a great deal of emotion do you need to express in words whats going on?

I think you portray the emotions so well that that the viewer is in no doubt as to what is going on.

Such a wonderful image, but sadly beautiful.  It saddens me though that such a wonderful image has to come out of pain and injustice and great tragic loss ...  Our world is such a beautiful place but so many of us are suffering in our 'beautiful' world.  Well done for having the skill to capture this child's plight.  Regards. 

 It is unoriginal and a pale comparison of McCurry's work. It also seems set up and not photojournalistic.  I wouldn't mind if both eyes were a little soft, but one is softer than the other.
