iancoxleigh 0 Posted September 1, 2008 I do a lot of IR these days. But, I am usually not a fan of false-colour IR. But, this is very nice. I might have to re-think my prejudices. Link to comment

ndt_photo 0 Posted November 27, 2008 I like straight B&W IR - it's already bending the visuals enough, false color is just that - False, other than the sky being blue I can't relate to these images, but when you go B&W you throw out those ideals and start anew. Sorry, but I like this image, I just feel like photo.net is a bunch of backslappers that doesn't help each other along, like a shy photo club :-) I am just trying to add my piece and move things forward... akinliat 0 Posted November 27, 2008 You know, Nathan, I thought about what you said, so I tried desaturating the image to see it as a B&W. It doesn't work nearly as well for me, though. It did point up a potential compositional point -- I noticed that when destaurated, the lower trunk got lost in the the treeline. A lower camera angle would correct that without sacrificing too much (other than the shadow on the left). The colors serve the same function, jsut not quite as well. It's still a great shot -- the textures along the trunk are fantastic and the color really does add just a little touch of surrealism. Link to comment
