robwilson 0 Posted August 31, 2008 Thank you all for your kind and generous comments. Unforunately this is probably the only 'usable' shot that I have from Pakistan as I was only there for a couple of days. Cheers Rob Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Glancing through your Portfolio I happened accross this "Gem" of a shot. This photo brings home the poverty some families still face. This dear little group, look rather frightened and wary of you. The Mother can barely open the door. One little boy/girl has to hide and just offers part of a face for us to view. May I ask a couple of questions. Was this just a quick candid shot or did you ask?? How did you come by this family??. Kind Regards Link to comment
robwilson 0 Posted October 2, 2008 HI Keith, I took this as I was leaving Taxila in Pakistan. I was sitting in a rickshaw when the boy just happen to walk out of the house. He got a little excited at the sight of a couple of tourists. And your right they do look a little suspicious of me. However, I did ask them to pose and this is one of several shots I took. Afterwards the little boy (who looks most angry of all) came running to look at the picture. He was absolutely delighted to see it. The expression on his face after seeing the picture was out of this world. I think that out of all of the people shots that I've ever taken, this one is my favourite. blue-olympus 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Thanks for answering my questions Rob..This is the BEST natural portrait I have ever seen..Absolutely superb. When these odd occasions happen one must react very fast and "shoot like hell" Link to comment
robwilson 0 Posted October 3, 2008 That's quite a compliment Keith, my friend. Thank you very much indeed. My only wish is that I'd shot it using my E3 rather than the Konica Minolta Dimage 5 I had at the time. The funny thing is I only took 3 shots. One of them, I made a mess of processing and had forgotten to archive so I lost it. Thankfully, this is the best one. If I was in the same situation now, I'd have run off about 15 or 20! All the very best, Rob Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted April 7, 2009 For what it's worth I came back for another look and discovered that I gave this 6/7 so this was immediately rectified to 7/7 which it so rightly deserves...A masterpiece Bob!!!! Link to comment

leora 3 Posted September 20, 2009 I think it is wonderful that you could make this child's day by instantly showing him the photo. Digital is such a revelation. The expression on the young mother's face is the most telling. These kids are her whole life and she is carrying a tremendous burden, but there must be great joy, too. I caught the mischievous eye of one of the children that is hiding. I cannot say enough about the feeling and texture of this photo. Just 7-7-7-7-7-7! Link to comment
