Very good composition. The pastel colors add profundity.

I really love this shot, but it doesn't show in my 5 / 5 rating. So let me explain why. The blu and the red coloring don't make any sense to me. It's like adding a bit of colour for the sake of adding it. Somebody is behind bars - or behind a window. Why would this "jail" be toned in such a candy color ? The lips are more understandable, but still: red lips on a youg girl in B&W, to me, emphasizes feminity (sensuality?), and I don't see that this picture is about feminity.

Everything else is so touching, so wonderfully subtle and gracious. Leave it alone. It needs no color, it needs nothing else than what it is. The composition, the light and the pose are truly superb. Just do me a favor, and upload a pure B&W version... It will be a 6 / 6 at least, and possibly more. Regards.

Sharlene, the two versions have different atmospheres - I think some might prefer the purity of the monotone version.

 

My first instinct was that this was a two layered image, one of window bars, another of a young girl. If that were the case, I would have made the "bars" much thinner, so to obviate the sense of imprisonment. But it is a single image so let me comment on that :

 

I like the 3 tones, they work very well together. Having the eyes obscured emphasises the mouth which was your intention. I would have the wooden bars a little less bright, and maybe have included more hair.
