Shadows

Browsing through your portfolio I came upon this fine photograph. I have some small suggestions. The composition is a bit top-heavy in that the people and the dark trees are all in the top half and the bottom half has the light and shadows. I notice that the bottom two inches or so don't really add value to the composition. Cropping this off would be a fine idea (just my view, not necessarily the only or the best view) as it would balance out the composition. I'm uploading the suggested crop which will clarify better what I mean. Additionally, I've added a very little fill light to bring out some more detail in the blacks, and tilted the frame just a wee bit.

"Shadows" is the obvious name for this photograph. I suggest captioning with a mind to draw the viewer to the people rather than the shadows. I know nothing about the scene so difficult for me to come up with a useful suggestion. Perhaps an allusion based on what you remember of the occasion...

No acknowledgements expected or obligatory. If my suggestion sparks some experimentation on this great photograph, I'll be more than happy. If it seems a lot of bull to you, just trash my suggestion.
