Please view larger, thank you. It would be fine to have more space above

the towers but unfortunately there was already the horizon there. I would

like to know your opinion about the photo. Thank you for your time

Thank you, Hassan, I am glad you like the picture. I have checked your portfolio, you do like Prague ... :-) but ... I do not know who is Zuzanna :-) Best regards

...the mist/haze has made the picture a little flat without giving it atmosphere. Increasing the contrast with just a small Levels adjustment really makes a big difference - suddenly the windows of both Chuches of St. Nicholas really pop and look like the early morning sun is shining through them. Cheers! RickDB

Thank you, Ricardo, Eduard and Rick, for your kind interest paid to this picture. I am really pleased that you like this Prague view.

Rick, thank you for your suggestion. You are right, I have added some contrast (perhaps even more could be ... and slightly darkened in levels) and reloaded the picture. I think it is better now. Thanks again and cheers!

I like it very much.

I prefer the original version with the haze.

Haze gives a particular atmosphere.

Ciao,

Thank you, Gallego, Jim, Gunnar, Antonio and Jose, for your kind interest and nice words about the picture. It is very pleasing that my home city attracted so much attention.

Antonio, as to the haze - or more or less of the haze - I think that the version loaded now is something between the original version and the Rick's proposal. It depends ... the original version was more "moody", this one is more distinct and I really like how the light gets through the church window.

I think it is normal - there is not a single "best solution" but more possibilities and different people like different options.

Thanks to all and warm regards

...This is what PN is all about! Some prefer the atmosphere of your original shot over my heavy handed - but very simple - adjustment. Milena, you opted for something in between - but both of these adjustments are global and are compromises. Another approach is to alter the contrast of just the foreground, ie Church of St. Nicholas in the Little Quarter. Here's what I suggest.

1. Create a levels adjustment layer and adjust the sliders to give more contrast (I used black 9, white 241, and contrast 0.96).

2. Change foreground color to black and with paint bucket fill adjustment layer (you will now see the original picture)

3. Select white as the FG color, and then select the paint brush - select a suitable size and opacity of 100% - and carefully paint out the church in the foreground. It will appear with increased contrast and those windows look great. You can play around with opacity and create quite subtle changes.

The end result is that you have cut through the foreground haze, made those windows pop, and at the same time reatined and enhanced the atmosphere in the distance.

Of course you do need an image worth the effort, and this is indeed a worthy pic! Cheers, RickDB

Thank you, Salvador, for your nice words about the picture.

Thanks, Rick, for returning to the picture again. It is really very fine that you consider it worth the effort and thinking about its adjustments. I understand the procedure you used. For me it opens again new possibilities how to play with tuning of images. Nice result. Thanks a lot and cheers!
