summer_calloway1 0 Posted October 13, 2008 Wonderful picture. Excellent tones. I would crop out the top of the wall a little bit more. It's a bit too distracting. Bring the boy in focus. Otherwise excellent. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted November 7, 2008 Raj: I really can't add much to what our colleagues already have stated. However, I must disagree with Summer's observation. In my opinion, cropping the top of the wall would change the perspective the photo has, and that's one of the elements that makes it so effective. It tells, not only of a child reacting to an encounter with his mother, but also of a child feeling lost or isolated in an adult world. BTW, I'm sure that children learn, to some extent, how to manipulate their parents. However, at this child's age, any disciplinary encounter with a parent can feel like a loss of that parent's love. That may explain this young man's tears and his attempt to hide his identity. Outstanding capture of a very meaningful moment . . . michael Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted November 29, 2008 Having two little ones myself, I can attest that this is as natural a shot as it gets. I see this pose many times during the day. "No" is hard to hear (and even harder to say). Congrats on an emotionally effective shot. Link to comment
