Upon first look at this picture, one might presume it to be a posed shot. The story

behind it is however, was much contrary!

As a result of a disagreement with his mother, he sat there helplessly, with tears

running down his reddened cheeks.

The textured background, missing shirt and baggy pants, together with his posture,

created an instantaneous frame in my mind.

As I raised my camera, with his mother’s consent, the young lad made it even more

memorable as he hid his face

Raj, I gave you a 7/7 for this because it just tore my heart out when I looked at it. Anything that gets such a strong emotional reaction from me has to be excellent. I just hope this little guy is alright now. All the best.

Dear Linda

I really appreciate your comments.

I shot the picture while travelling in Europe and the little lad was completely stranger to me. Children play mindgame with parents to get their way. So I am sure that he is doing well and learning from experience.

Thank you again for your time and critique.

Best wishes from India

Beautiful capture, the pose and framing is excellent. I love the drab background against the color of the subject - it shows how alive and vibrant he is - even when crying!

Your explanation adds interest to the photo. Nice textured background complimenting child's complexion.

This shot could not have been this good if it was not candid. His face is not visible but the body language is difficult to miss. A very very nice capture. Warm regards.

Awesome capture. Looks very sad. The background gives the impression that he has been locked up. A sure 7/7.

As for the kid, I am sure he is thriving. He must have forgotten about it by the time Raj downloaded this picture from his memory card :).
