Summer Moon Over Denver

Very nice. I like it.

Please rate and comment on the cropping and presentation. It's hard

to make a moonshot interesting, especially without resorting to

placing the moon into another image. The elongated presentation is

meant to contextualize the moon as a heavenly body, high in the sky.

Just curious as to why there's so much black space down there...8)

For me, the space below the moon works to create a sense of space. There's a certain courage in having perfectly empty space in the photo, although it has emotional value.

Very impressive, both aesthetically and technically. I wouldn't have thought a digital camera could capture this type of image so well. I'm sure fans of '2001' will appreciate the black oblong, but personally I'd like to see even more space. The present crop has echoes of a penny dropping down a well.

This is the most creative moon shot I've seen. Very nice. Would work great for an graphic design product.

Excellent shot. What focal length was used?

This was full out at 300mm. ISO 100; Exposure Compensation -1.5; Av 5.6 / Tv 1/90. A tripod was used and the shutter prefired to prevent image shake. I also had the Image Stabilization on, but I don't think it moved during the shot. The image was taken at 11:53 PM. (I love the D60, it saves all the relevant info)

WOW! The fact that the "hidden" half is visible is incredible! BRAVO on a great exposure!
