naturetrek 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Rarely have I seen so much detail on a h-bird wings. Really nice composition, colors, background. Everything is great in this photo. Link to comment
cooltpmd 0 Posted August 9, 2008 This is a really special capture ... you must confess how you got such amazing color. I agree with the other critique that mentions how rare the detail you captured is. There is an almost HDR (in a good way) effect on the wings ... Really nice. Link to comment
trungdinhnguyen 0 Posted August 9, 2008 Now is the time to confess, Macro lens and the high speed flash are the tools must have to do. I set up 5 custom flash head for control speed of the wings not the speed of the camera. Hand held Nikon D200, F9, 200s stop and quick light adjust plus crop the image. Link to comment
James G. Dainis 301 Posted August 10, 2008 I'm not one who is impressed by humming bird shots, although I know the work that must go into capturing them, but this one is superb. I like the complimentary blue in the background instead of having the standard out of focus green. Link to comment
gregscott 0 Posted September 1, 2011 I like the y/b/g color combo.I don't recognize the species of the hummer. What is it?The orange crown and gorget color picks up nicely with the lower part of the lily. But I don't recognize this color on any US species. If you don't know the species, where did you shoot it?
