kahkityoong 0 Posted August 9, 2008 An overcast sky, shade and polarizer resulted in this blue cast offset by the street lights. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted August 9, 2008 How astute of you to notice the watermark. I'm sick of people stealing my images from Pnet. If people want to see my work without the watermark, there's my website, albeit at lower resolution. Link to comment
Fishermang 0 Posted August 17, 2008 Cheers my friend! I am only wondering, how have your photos been mis-used? Just out of curiosity. I have had a few of mine stolen too, but they usually just were used as covers on some journal and decoration for a webpage or so.. Anyway, really beautiful photo. Love its sharpness. Very nicely captured late evening atmosphere. Good work! Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted August 18, 2008 If you google my name you'll find pages of unauthorized and inappropriate usage of my images. The step of a very obvious watermark is the only way to deal with this. Link to comment
Fishermang 0 Posted August 18, 2008 I did a quick search on google and didn't find anything. Only for two pages though. Personally, I think, marks destroy photos. And I am willing to take the risk of someone using my photo or stealing it against making them harder to view for most people. I am not directing this as criticism towards you hehe, just my personal opinion :) Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted August 19, 2008 Check out pages 3, 4 and 5. I have enough interest in my work now that I don't have to worry about whether people care about the watermark or not. What I don't like are the plethora of dodgy websites masking the legitimate ones on google rankings. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted August 19, 2008 Kah, at the risk of sounding rude, if your images are that precious to you and you don't want them misused, perhaps you shouldn't upload them. Really, what's the worst thing that could happen with an image at 72dpi / 640? So they get uploaded to another site without your approval. Nobody else is going to profit off of these small images. In my humble opinion, your watermark destroys the beauty of your images and makes you look arrogant. The whole point of uploading our photos to the web is to share our passion, not to share our initials. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted August 19, 2008 Will, I couldn't care less about a few websites using my images however it is about 30-40 dodgy sites which drives down other websites I am affiliated with. As I mentioned, my website has no watermarks but the pics are at 600px. I go to a lot of trouble to get my shots so I don't like them being offered as downloadable wallpapers on websites, often with advertisements of naked women on the same page. My plan is to upload without watermark initially then place the watermark a few weeks later so people have a chance to see them without. If this is at the risk of seeming precious or arrogant, too bad, I'm not all that interested in popularity contests. Link to comment
psyopwak 0 Posted April 23, 2011 You are a very talented photographer. I like the mixture of warm vs cool hues in your work as a body, and in this image. Also many of your pictures have abstract shapes and textures combined with a wide variety of color and color intensity. I think this makes your photographs visually interesting.Does the Mark 3 have a sensor that captures low light well, or do you just shoot with a good wide aperature lens? How did you decide on CANON as a manufacturer, to shoot with?At any rate, your images are wonderful...
