obi-wan-yj 0 Posted August 8, 2008 In only about 30 minutes, this spider had built a 2-foot diameter web between my garage and the hood of my Jeep, right under the motion-sensing flood light. My wife threw a june bug into his web, and it was amazing how quickly he wrapped it up. I'm still working on trying to get effective lighting on my macro shots. This was done with an add-on flash mounted to the hot shoe with a Stofen diffuser attached. Most other shots with that setup don't turn out quite as well. This was shot at slightly over 1:1 with the glass a few inches from the spider. Any suggestions for improvement? Link to comment
obi-wan-yj 0 Posted August 26, 2009 This shot, with a different crop that enhanced the web on which he was hanging, was submitted to the 2009 Nebraska State Fair photography competition, where it won second place in the "Other Living Creatures (color)" class. Link to comment
