Guest Guest Posted November 16, 2008 I like the overall concept of the composition here. I try not to fall into the trap of saying how I would have shot a photograph, but I guess I'll have to here in order to make my point...I don't shoot that many outdoor nudes, so my comments might be worthless, but I think I would have composed it so that the sky wouldn't be visible. My reasoning is that for me, the brightness of the sky competes with the brightness of the model's body and draws my attention away from her. If the sky was more "dramatic"...like with more clouds and/or darker, it wouldn't be an issue at all. I do like the open foreground and all the foliage. Where was this made? Link to comment
ianbattersby 0 Posted December 24, 2008 Jim:Many thanks for your comments.I appreciate your point about the sky, you are right that it distracts from the model. I feel to omit the sky entirely may have made the shot lack balance, although agree that if the sky was darker it would help enormously, perhaps through the use of a polarizing filter or similar? The shot was taken at a rented villa in Vers Pont du Gard (South of France), both beautiful and secluded :) Link to comment
