I must ask, since I see your reference to patterns, did you produce the one on the plate by hand?  It looks as if it is stippled/cross-hatched, etc. Very original and unique idea!  Love the spider too...fascinating treatment here.

It was three stairs with venetian mosaic picture, the polar coordinates, then new file and one half of the polar coordinated stairs stuck together to avoid the vertical line, then selecting circles and brightening a part of them and dropping shadows on the lower one (blending layers cause I made separately a layer of each one)! A lot of work!
