raybrizzi 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Very rich black and white palette. I'd be curious to see this one in color if the flowers are white. Link to comment
loic brohard 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Hi Deborah, I have same curiosity as Ray. The NP is wonderful, and you have made a great composition there, and very good B&W conversion. Would have been perfect with one or two clouds in the blue sky... but I know we don't always choose ;-) In my case where I live, I would not mind for some more blue sky sometimes ;-) Congrats, Loic Link to comment
laurentbaig 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Nice use of light to keep focus towards the yucca flowers Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted August 2, 2008 As Laurent said, you handled the light perfectly. Wonderful tones and contrasts. This is an outstanding black and white image. Note to Loic, et al., these flowers can range from nearly all white to having a goodly blush of pink in them. This is a hell of a capture. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
deborahpeace 0 Posted August 2, 2008 I appreciate your responses- I'm still new to digital b&w (not to mention the color end) after having done traditional black and white photography in the darkroom for years, and it's quite the challenge to learn all these new tools. This photo was taken with the intent of a black and white image, and I personally find the color photo rather uninspiring. The flowers are a cream color in the original shot, I'll attach a small image of it below. Again, thank you for taking the time to comment. Gives me hope that I can learn to do this "digital" b&w thing! Link to comment
