I once tried to take pictures of the moon with a 300mm lens! NOTHING! How could you manage to do this with the same focal length I don't know! It must be that it is equivalent to about 500mm on your camera! Good picture nevertheless! Maybe not razor sharp, but good! To take a "real" picture of the moon it takes a telescope!

this is a "cropped" image. I take this shot whit a tripod and canon 100-300 usm (all my "new" moon shots are taked with this lens) :-)

I only use more "sharpness" on my camera.
