This is so beautiful! I read your tech details.......you used a soft edge filter?? That must be what is creating the glistening of the water. The lighting is perfect.....looks like it may be very early morn light? Very nicely done!!! Wish I could rate this!

Thanks Christal, Leo, Dimitris and Andrei for taking a closer look. The glassy effect of the water surface is partly because I did not use a polarizing filter, but mostly due to a long exposure. This is a blend of two exposures, primarily to bring back some detail in the trees and hill on the right, darkened by the grad filters used.

I think this must be what it is like to stand on this spot. A wonderfully natural photograph and so well seen and captured.... thanks for sharing! Mike

I watched you set up for this one too; and you made the most of the light and the scene. My eye just naturally travels upstream to the first cascade and to the light. I am so glad that you liked this area. I think I took over three hundred photographs between the first cascade and the third cascade! Beautiful image, Mark! Cheers! Chris
