wavegirl 0 Posted September 18, 2002 I think a tighter crop to get rid of the people in the background. Link to comment
jeroendebeurs 0 Posted September 18, 2002 with wave girl, picture seems much nicer without the distractions in the background. Link to comment
kobus_van_leer 0 Posted September 19, 2002 I have made a tighter crop of this photo, just as Wave Girl and Jeroen de Beurs said. I thought of doing this before, but in my opinion the horse was too much to the left (I would like to hold the photo proportion 2 X 3). But now I like the new one more than this one. Please take a look at the new cropped photo and tell me what you think of it. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 21, 2002 1. I would blur the background to add some volume to the image that is flattened by its excessive sharpness. 2. I would play with colour balance (levels, moving middle controls) and/or saturation. The moment is good, but the colours make it mundane, one has to be a bit unrealistic to visually surprise. hayward 0 Posted September 24, 2002 Wonderful action. Have you thought about cropping it tighter? Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted September 28, 2002 Wow - action! Great shot here. I would offer two simple suggestions. 1. Crop out the background 2. another stop or maybe two would have brightened the shot up in terms of the detail Mike Sea Link to comment
ray . 58 Posted October 4, 2002 I like the shot as you have cropped it, but wonder if it could use just a tad more space on the bottom and left, in which case you could still retain your proportion. It's a great shot in any case. I personally wouldn't manipulate the image other ways, I tend to think photographs lose integrity that way, especially an action shot like this. Link to comment
morwen_thistlethwaite 0 Posted October 5, 2002 Very nice action shot, that makes me feel as if I'm there. I like both versions, for different reasons, but think the original would have benefitted from having a narrower depth of field. It'd be possible to blur the people and vehicles in the background in Photoshop, but difficult to make convincing that way. Link to comment
