Another great moment. The only thing missing is what you had in your ring shot... Some kind of background. These banquet halls get pretty dark that's why I usually try to drag the shutter to get some ambient light or I add two strobes bouncing off the ceiling at opposite corners of the room to make sure things don't go black in the background. I think it is nice to have the background provide some context.

I agree with John to an extent. I think the absense of the background actually adds a certain emotional aspect to the photo. If this image were to be a wide image of the bride and groom's full body I think a background would be necessary and then I would use the lighting John mentioned. But this is a more personal image and I think it works very well as is.
