I like the image overall. Good composition and great subject - good eye for seeing it. I wonder if a stop underexposure might have brought out more texture in the sand?

is my first thought... Composition very well done! Somehow I'm also looking for the right piece of wood - but did not have the luck up to now. But it's there anyway, it just have to be seen - you did it and composed it correct! Could be a little darker, but this only as I would try different developments. I like tho most in your B&W folder, but the cat and also the "face" are very very fine!

Again, beautifully simple. The little imprint in the sand is a good counterbalance and the lines in the wood lead the eye like a walk along the beach.
