jennings 0 Posted September 16, 2002 Well this is one of my first shots with my new D30. I had been looking at this building for awhile and finally decided to go take the shot. I adjusted the saturation and contrast in PS a bit. Link to comment
paolo1960 0 Posted September 16, 2002 I think over-satured colors is a good chance for this photo. You can define more writings on the right red one, using an unsharp mask (perhaps in LAB mode, luminosity?). Ciao Link to comment
tonygattuso 0 Posted September 16, 2002 Another example of seeing something and capturing it. I like the colors and shapes being repeated. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 17, 2002 "Adjusted levels and contrast in Photoshop" you said... Well, good ! :-) It does make a difference, no doubt... I like it. It's simple, nice, colorful, funny, well-framed... Well done.A word about John comment: the textures... They could indeed be a bit better, yet, I haven't seen this place, but I know that such objects have a texture that almost never stands out - unless you have the chance to get some harsh side-lighting. The paint is what kills the textures here, because each red thing bounces red light onto the other ones... So, not much you could do about it - at least under this light. Regards. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted September 18, 2002 I'm predisposed to images like this, but (at least on my monitor) find the colors to be disturbing, as though some violence has been done to them in Photoshop. My guess is this violence hasn't helped the textures mentioned above. Link to comment
tom_mcelvogue 0 Posted September 19, 2002 Good colours. I really like this image as it gets my imagination going. I don't see two water pipes, but instead see lots of other possibilities. This cheered me up tonight. Thanks for the image. Link to comment
ellery_chua___singapore 0 Posted October 3, 2002 I like the clean feel of the comp. The contrast in colors is ok but the red is a little too strong. My main issue is the lack of focus - it seems like the plane has been tilted off. It could be a digital thing as I have noticed at least on a cheaper consumer digital camera a PS unit - that it cannot get focus right when there are more than one element in frame. Could you confirm with the original file if there is a clear point of focus. I expect to be able to read works embossed on the sprikler control. Link to comment
reddragonlady 0 Posted October 16, 2002 The colors are certainly eye-catching. The 2nd circle helps to balace it. I do like this a lot, but something is bugging me. It seems to me that the red seems to cause it to lose texture though. The bricks have lots of texture that is lost on the subject. Link to comment
