I absolutely love this image! It is eerie and moody. It isn't just the fog it is how you have captured it.

You choice to have this off-kilter composition with the strong line leading into the fog and to let the corners on the left to fade to true blacks add to the scene greatly. It gives an ominous tone to the whole scene. The two headlights in the far, far, far distance on the right hand edge genuinely frighten me. I am convinced that it can't be something good that is coming my way. The first light is also perfectly rendered -- just close enough to give some flare, but still blurred and diffused by the fog. The leaning pole is the perfect addition as well.

I also think the graininess in the top portion is a huge benefit here -- and this is just about the first time I've ever liked the grain in a photo!
