giorgio.luciano 0 Posted September 16, 2002 Wonderful portrait. Colors are beautiful :) Link to comment
scott bulger 0 Posted September 18, 2002 I love the expression on her face but the awkward vignetting makes it look like you are trying to hide something. I don't think that the effect adds anything to this image. It looks like a well posed image with a studio background, so why mess with it? Link to comment
hatless 0 Posted September 26, 2002 I'm with Scott on this. The diagonal vignetted box gets in the way of a lovely, sweet and nicely lit portrait. It's so drastic that it makes me think of what the world might look like to someone going blind, or waking up with one's head in bandages. Done appropriately, vignetting can make something feel more intimate and add a sense of timelessness. Here, it intrudes on the photo's mood. That's how I see it, anyway. Link to comment
cakeller98 0 Posted September 27, 2002 ... vignetting. The diagonal box doesn't add anything to the photo, and also does make us wonder... what're we not seeing. The background looks probably fine to leave, or if you're covering something up... maybe just continue the green out to the edge. It's possible it's the black that is disturbing. The black and green have a lot of contrast between them, and create a strong visual element, that draws attention away from your subject. Whereas usually (IMO) vignetting is supposed to lessen the impact of a distracting background and bring the focus back to the forground subject. May we see this without the vignetting? :) please ;) Link to comment
rick vincent 1 Posted December 10, 2002 This is a bit better place for off-focus eyes. I think because they are not so obvious and it is the overall feeling that you are trying to portray...dreaming.... Link to comment
