Great shot. Congratulation Floriana for being selected as POW. I find the colors of the sky perfect, and I think both the changed photographs are inferior to the original. The red in the foreground and the grey of the sky makes an absolutely stunning contrast. The lady has an urban attire and a slightly inclined sophisticated pose with the umbrella - yes; but to go in a field you do not need to wear a rustic dress. I can see myself in the picture, walking through the bright fields toward a grey horizon. Just marvelous.

I agree with the above comment. Trouble is, some people don't realize how very subtle you have to be when you start messing with a beautiful photograph like this. My effort is below, though I must admit that, after having played around with it, blue is a very difficult colour to incorporate into this image.

Very romantic! I love the colors. Nice composition with the lady walking away. Nice angle on her head, arm and umbrella.Congratulations! //Bee

Congratulation Floriana! Just continue.

From all the examples shown here I think that the original is the best. Two tiny things that I think will enhance it farthere is adjasting selectivly the intensity of the parasol ( lower it some), and lighting a very tiny bit her hair that are looking a bit blocked. I tried to do it, and it works nicely. That said, it is well done, association with the history of the arts ,painter of the past as Lannie's example showed is present .

Good light and beautiful color Palette.

This is a fantastic image as is the rest of your portfolio, a number of which could have been chosen for POW. The thumbnail on the front

photo.net page doesn't do it justice at all since there is so much space in the image. I love the glare off the parasol. I just don't

understand the choice of clothing for the model.

I think the colors here are the product of some fairly aggressive processing by the artist. A photo taken at this time of day (the sun still well up in the sky, judging from the angle at which the shadow falls across the model’s back) is simply not going to have much if any of that “golden” quality of some early morning or late afternoon sunlight. In addition, the poppies (which I’d bet are corn poppies, a Eurasian wild poppy which grows as an agricultural weed in cereal cultivation) are way too orange – that flower is more red, and more vivid, than appears here (see this other shot in Floriana’s portfolio ).

That said, I like this photo a lot and I wouldn’t change a thing. The processing reflects the aesthetic sensibility and judgment of the artist. She made some careful choices to skew this image in a particular direction, and I think it worked well. If it had been a more "straight", blue-sky-red-flowers depiction (perhaps more like this other shot by Floriana), I don't think it would have been as successful.

Your concept of women is really unique. The classic look of how woman can be presented in the most gentle and gracious way. The tales are inspired, I guess, by your experience too.

In my opinion, the image is pale a bit, so I adjusted a bit.

Florina, I am simply in love with this image, if you permit, I would like and love to paint this on canvas with oils.

Thanks for your kind visit my friend!!

Warm regards, Rakesh!

The model catches my eye as it has done with others. The same is true for the 'grey' in the image.

I don't think that either are wrong, they just stand out.

The question becomes one of the viewers reaction to this effect.

Either this attention adds to the picture or 'catches' the viewer and reduces their enjoyment of it.

I would be in the latter camp.

For me the the model feels to rigid (straight) for the waving and curlying flowers, a softer pose (less straight?) would have helped.

Having said that capture, exposure and all the elements are most subtle and I love them.

Well, someone has to throw a wet towel on the party of praise and it might as well be me. The photograph has good elements, but used in the wrong way. It is a little too composed and there is not enough animation in the human figure. If she was coming toward the camera the image would have more life. Also, the 60/40 composition of the foreground to background is a little weak. Cropping up into the middle of the second flower from the right would add a little more visual tension and rebalance the the composition constructing a more dynamic relationship between the figure and the sky.

Nice concept. Everything relates nicely, colors are warm and pleasing. The results from some of the others I feel are not

good at all and make the original appear not pleasing at all.

Aspects of the composition, however, disturb me. The horizon is a bit too centered and tends to prevent a feeling of

needed depth. It is also a distracting merger line cutting the model in half. A simple repositioning of the camera would

have taken care of these things. I believe it would have taken this photo from a good shot to something much more

aesthetically pleasing.

Wonderful mood. Proves you don't need to have the subject facing you.

In fact looking in the same direction as the model puts the viewer in the same spot as the model

Bravo
