Headshots at 2am. No idea what headshots are technically supposed to look like. Any comments or suggestions are well recieved.

I always thought headshots were supposed to be from the shoulders up, but I'm not really sure. What kind of lens did you use? The reason for the question is that her hands are magnified.

Nice picture, nice smile, but IMO the bottom one third needs to cropped out ...

I like it. I agree the hands are a little distracting. Is this a self portrait?

Lighting is great, with the exception of the glare off her left cheek. The hands i find distracting, but i think its more the way they are "posed". It makes me feel like she's trying to find something to do with her hands, like she's nervous. The corner of the table is kind of sticking out as well. I like how the shadows on the wall all draw you into the center of the shot.

I think it's a great picture but it would have been even better if there was some light on the left side of the face, maybe from a reflector (the double shadow on the cheek is the only thing that's a shame in my opinion).

I myself am also looking around to figure out what defines a "head shot" vs "portrait" vs something else. This is a very nice portrait of the girl though. I can see the bottom third cropped in a little bit to pass as a head shot maybe but I kind of like the hands the way they are here so I might leave a little bit of that in the head shot but still keep this shot. Great work for 2 AM!
