virginiamarie 0 Posted July 10, 2008 One of my pet peeves is when someone gives a low anonymous rating and doesn't give you any constructive advice to help you improve! UGH! I looked at a few photographs on your portfolio and it looks like you are the model in this photograph. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Look at the two photographs side by side in your portfolio, the one where you are eating the cookie and the one "before oreo." Your camera is in a lower position in the photo with the cookie and it compliments all of your features. The higher camera position in the photo to the right makes the nose look broader and longer and therefore doesn't compliment the features. There is also a few fine pieces of hair in this photo that is going right into your mouth. You could clean that up with photoshop, but try to pay attention to those kind of details when you are making a photograph. It takes less time to brush the hair out of your face than to clean it up with photoshop. Don't give up on photography! This is the place to learn and grow. I hope my comments don't discourage you. People have helped me along the way and it's the only way I've learned. Welcome to PN! Regards, Ginni Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted July 10, 2008 I happen to like shadows on skin. Many photographers, myself included, have done photographs of textured surfaces with the resulting shadows. I sometimes feel like skin is non-textured. Keep up the good work and try photographing other people as well. Link to comment
catherine_jones1 0 Posted July 10, 2008 Nice framing, composition and lighting. Only thing I'd change is to get better quality fake eyelashes, they are a bit distracting. Link to comment
