steve_bingham 0 Posted July 5, 2008 As I was beginning to photograph this old Native American building (over 100 years old) I was approached by a uniformed tribal officer - seemingly out of NOWHERE. He stopped me and told me I needed a permit to photograph any Indian property - and then escorted me to Tribal Headquarters! One HOUR later I had completed all the paperwork and walked out with a paper saying I could photograph THIS building! So, as I was photographing this building, again, a 68 year old Indian lady stopped on the highway and came running (she was incredibly spry) across the field to tell me I couldn't photograph this old building! I showed her the paper, talked real nice for about 15 minutes, and got her blessing. It seems she was a caretaker for the 95 year old man whose relatives once lived there. A very nice lady, and she proceeded to give me the history of the building. Keep in mind that this building is miles away from any other building! This what the building said to me. Link to comment
