regis 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Ayrshire (Scottish Gaelic: Siorrachd Inbhir Àir) is a county of south-west Scotland, located on the shores of the Firth of Clyde. Its principal towns include Ayr, Kilmarnock and Irvine. The town of Troon on the coast has hosted the British Open Golf Championship twice in the last seven years, eight times in total, including the most recent one in 2004. Ayrshire is one of the most agriculturally fertile regions of Scotland. Potatoes are grown in fields near the coast, using seaweed-based fertiliser, and in addition the region produces pork products, other root vegetables, cattle and summer berries such as strawberries are grown abundantly. The area used to be heavily industrialised, with steel making, coal mining and in Kilmarnock numerous examples of production-line manufacturing, most famously Johnnie Walker whisky. Beside that, Ayrshire has a truly beautiful coastline, with lovely views overlooking Island of Arran and Firth of Clyde. And all these beautiful views are just about an hour drive from busy city of Glasgow. Cheers Piotr Link to comment

cherkez 0 Posted June 27, 2008 Great landscape, too many words for this shot. I have a feeling you're missing something in the foreground. Otherwise beautiful. Link to comment
cphilpott 0 Posted June 27, 2008 I love word stories, too long this time, and not closely related shot. This is well balanced in composition and color and lighting. The lines flow very well for my eye. In the foreground, the curving little stream might be made a little stronger with adjustment to contrast or shadow/highlights. Link to comment
adrian_metzelaar 0 Posted June 28, 2008 A beautiful image - the textures combined with the amazing range of colours is what makes this! Link to comment
eugenio_pastor_benjumeda 0 Posted June 28, 2008 Great image. I like the light the composition and, of course, the fidelity to the original scene. Best regards, Eugenio. Link to comment
younes 0 Posted June 28, 2008 Very nice capture, and gorgeous light. However, I think you could have done a bit more with those fantastic textures in the sand. I think that getting closer to the ground or even focusing just on the sand altogether would have made for a more unique shot. Link to comment

lucyhollis 2 Posted August 24, 2008 Beautiful composition, the sweep of the riverlet is perfect. I'm not sure how much more focussing on the sand could have improved this photograph! Already the detail in the foreground is so fine. Link to comment
