mike_cheng 0 Posted September 12, 2002 The original slide is much better(i rate this only 60% from the original slide), btw just drop 1 for 2 critics, i will be really appreciate. Link to comment
mike_cheng 0 Posted September 15, 2002 this first scan was unsatisfied, and i try to rescan and post it on the same folder, the result is a little better than this one. Link to comment
monti 0 Posted September 16, 2002 You've approached this with good originality and the results are very nice. While I like the image there are elements that distract me like the cloud and the rock in the foreground which edges the border. The polarizer seems to have helped with the muddy effect often seen in nighttime exposures but the tradeoff is a very dark sky. I'd love to see more of that almost neon blue hinted at in the lower left at the tree line. Link to comment
Palouse 6 Posted September 22, 2002 Love the contrast between object and sky. Yellowstone? Polarized? Link to comment
mike_cheng 0 Posted September 25, 2002 Yes, This Yellow spring is in Yellowstone national park. This raw pic is photoshop untouched. it will look better to sharpen it with photoshop. My consumer grade slide scanner doesn't give rich, vivid scan. i am kinda disapointed with the result. Link to comment
ghiebert 0 Posted September 29, 2002 Like everybody says, great coloring and unusual technique. The basic image looks nice because the actual location is a lovely location. Other than that, it is a directly centered image with surreal tree trunks around it. I can't spot any other real compositional elements that make it any more than a postcard snap. Maybe if the big rock was moved to the corner and shot closer with a wider angle lens? Still this would make a neat poster for display because of the dramatic coloring. Link to comment
michel_bekaert 0 Posted September 30, 2002 Intriguing picture : makes you wonder if it is a natural picture or a creation. In any case, the composition is very good. Link to comment
nicholas marrone 0 Posted October 1, 2002 The object appears to be glowing. Looks like a fantasy painting, especially the transition from stars to apparent daylight. Link to comment
