acarodp 0 Posted June 21, 2008 Well, not a street actually: this was in Notre Dame, Paris. Thank youfor comments and critiques! L. Link to comment
tomasz_wojciechowski 0 Posted June 21, 2008 HI there, it's a nice juxtaposition of silhouettes. very good shot but i would crop out the upper part a bit. cheers Link to comment
maurocarli 0 Posted June 21, 2008 Geniale direi. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 309 Posted June 21, 2008 The pope in his usual pose and place, the silhouette and the height of the room are so specific for the motif and so nice! Great use of the B&W technique! PDE Link to comment
acarodp 0 Posted June 25, 2008 Thank you all for the nice comments. Yes, I might crop the upper part more, but I like the pillar fading to black, it adds some "atmosphere" (I hate the word but do not know how to tell it better now) to the image (mauro said something similar in Italian). Pierre, I wanted to point out that the man in white is actually not the pope, although I agree with you that there is a striking resemblance in the pose. He was just one of many priests involved in a very solemn celebration in Notre Dame de Paris. The "obscure twin" is actually another one of them. I hoe this does not diminish your opinion of the image! Ciao L. Link to comment
matthijs 0 Posted August 27, 2008 Don't crop... The dark pillars add an amount of depth (in perspective and in atmosphere) that would be missing without them. The only nitpick I have with the picture is the "third head" that's in the lower right corner. However I don't think that cropping on the right is a good idea. Regards, Matthijs. Link to comment
