landscape and sky Lighthouse

You had luck with the clouds! (or waited a long time for some interesting cloud composition? :))

Luck, I was there 15 mins and got 8 shots!

The fog was rolling in off the sea, for 10 mins the fog cleared and

the sun shone.

 

It spoiled my attempt to get a moody fog shot of the lighthouse.

I'm no expert in the science of converging lines and rules of thirds but there's something working here along with the wonderful colors.

...but the moody fog probably would've been more engaging. all i can think about when i look at this is "wouldn't this be cool in dusky fog with the light on and panning across the top of the frame?"

 

as it is it looks like a nice brochure shot. all it needs is some captioning.

Very standard, but well shot.

Good volume on the lighthouse, most certainly, and good light, I wish the sky could have a slightly more uniform blue, but this is tough to decide for sure from a monitor. Besides that, it seems to me, but again that could be the scan, that the top of the light house isn't really tack-sharp. No idea. It should be, I think. So, no major problem here, but I feel it is a bit too ordinary - both the subject and the approach. Not easy to shoot an original lighthouse shot, I'll give you that...:-) Probably the rating would be something like 6 at most in originality and 8 in Aesthetics or such... but I've always believed that rating originality low on such subject didn't make any sense, so I'll pass. Quite a good shot... Just hoping to see more creative stuff next time. Regards.

The blue sky is beautiful

Great photograph. I like the lines and shapes. I especially like the patterns in the cloud. It almost looks like the lighthouse is causing ripples in the sky. Your choice of lens makes the photograph for me.

Lighthouses, I love this buildings... Good shot! Great perspective and the sky works very good here.

The composition is great and the clouds really make the shot.
