Let me know what you think of the super-high contrast. I like how it

simplifies the image into the essence of the concert- the musicians

and their audience interacting.

I do like this shot; it has a lot of energy without being overly complex and the camera angle is pretty unusual. My only comment would be

that without the title I'd be hard pushed to know exactly what was going on here; the man with the mike could be a singer or someone leading a

boisterous political rally - I didn't notice the guitarist to the right for quite some time. If this ambiguity is OK with your vision then this

composition works. Regards - Martin

Hi Erick,

Nice work on the contrast, it could work as a poster for the tour, or perhaps printed on the tickets. The almost absolute lack of detail (I can barely see his face) allows us to focus on the crowd's attitude, and unlike in your Vendetta Red folder, people who might have been cut off or partly shown don't matter here, since everyone is blended in black.

As Martin mentioned, this gives off a lot of energy.

PS: I wonder how long it will be before this sparks an argument if this is a photo or graphic art that doesn't belong here.

Cheers!

I like this a lot. If there were a little white down lower I think it would help balance it a bit more. I could tell it was a concert without looking at the title.

And why would this be concitered graphic art and not a photo? I dont mean to start anything, but I really dont know why someone not say its a photo.

oh yeah! definitely a rockin' good concert, no doubt about it. Great angle, nice idea to distill the image down to the basics tenets of the event by boosting contrast up the wazoo. Could do double duty as an album cover, or promotional material or a T-shirt even! Ditto the other comments about lots of energy.

Justin,

About the digital art issue: don't ask me why, it's a photo to me as well. I've seen, however, some pretty funny discussions on Photo.net by people claiming that altered photographs were no longer photos.

Cheers!

I like this one a lot better than the previous one. You get a sense of motion from this one, and I agree with the posters who suggest it for promo materials. Unlike the other photo, this one is much more than just the sum of its parts.

I did not comment on your previous rock concert shot since everything I could say was already said. This one here is a great shot that works perfectly well. You need an eye not only to take the picture, but to know what to do with it in your wet or dry darkroom. And the choice was excellent (yes, I would like you to post the original). Maybe if you say you overexposed the negative on a contact print with Kodalith film some minds would be appeased. To me, it's good photography.

Seems I`m the only one i don`t like this photo - so i won`t rate it.

To me it`s too graphic - just black and white doesn`t do it for me - if it is intended for tickets or posters is a good one because it has plenty of space to type something on, but i`m not in that business so i can`t rate like said before.

i love what you did with this. its much better than the original in my opinion, although more on the artsy side than photographic, oh well!
