cmouli 0 Posted March 1, 2009 American Avocet in Camas Prairie, near Fairfield, Idaho. "Blue Shanks" is a colloquial name for American Avocets, a beautiful migratory bird living mostly in marshes, beaches and ponds. I took this shot during spring of last year. Camas Prairie is a wonderland for few days in spring when the Camas flowers bloom all over. Snow melts to create a marsh land in this prairie - inviting many shore birds. comments welcome.. GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted March 2, 2009 Wonderful to be in such a place during such a 'quick season'. Great lighting, DOF, detail....framing done very well, finishing off a composition so very pleasing to the eye. Great Portfolio....I'll be back! Link to comment
