Dead Water

Interesting rusty old tap as the foreground object and appropriate dof. However, the picture does not speak to me -- I don't get the symbolism. The title does not help. I can make up stories about how the water (or the lack of it) killed the town, etc., but the picture, as composed, does not grab me enough to make me linger on it for longer than a few moments.

Most cemetaries (at least where I'm from) have water spigots to water the lawn, and true to this photo they almost never provide a means for attaching the hose easily.

 

To better connect the spigot to what I beleive is its context, I would have increased the depth of field to bring the gravestones into focus.

 

I like the overall composition. This photo brings back memories of volunteering at my church cememtary years ago. Thanks for sharing!
