I love your Palouse shots, and this is probably my favorite. Gorgeous composition and lighting. The flare works beautifully here. My husband and I will be going to Steptoe Butte in the middle of August. I hope something interesting will be blooming then, but I have my doubts. We'll be on our way from Portland up to Glacier Nat'l. Park into BC. I hope we hit this area at a time with good light/skies. This is just gorgeous!

I join the chorus of folks who say this is a great image--it is indeed!  I might be tempted to clone out the black tip of that flower on the right by the horizon--it tends to pull my eye, but that is so very minor.  I would love to know, as someone has asked, if this is merely an intelligent use of fill flash, or if it is a blend of a couple of images...or both.  Awesome capture!

I have to let you know I rarely click on images on photo.net because not that many of them jump out at me, but you got my attention with this one.  It is very beautiful, great lighting, great composition.  If I had shot this, I would be proud to enlarge and hang it on a wall.  Job well done!
