lex_jenkins 13 Posted June 5, 2008 Never did figure out what these two hipsters were doing outside a punk club. The photo title? The sign outside the door, upper left. Seemed to fit. Link to comment

mvisionphotography 1 Posted August 7, 2008 I was in HIGH SCHOOL in 1980 -1985 do I remember 6th street Clubfoot and the Back Room and OMG! I spent every weekend there. I had friends parents that played in bands on these places and this looked so real to me. Took me WAY BACK! WOW! We probably brushed shoulders a couple of times. LOL I of course look exactly the same ~ ha :) Link to comment
chris_burck1 0 Posted November 11, 2012 Maybe "The Casualties" would have been the more appropriate title given how out of place these two are, lol.Surprisingly grainy for just a one stop push. Is that normal for hp5?Love the tones though.p.s. - btw that's not Karl Rove, is it? ;) Link to comment
lex_jenkins 13 Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks, Chris. Yup, The Casualties would have been a good title too. The fellow at the right does look like Karl Rove! The excessive grain may be due scanning the negative rather than scanning an optical enlargement. Scanning b&w negatives tends to exaggerate grain due to aliasing. And HP5+ will show grain pushed as little as to 800 in some developers - I like Microphen but it tends to exaggerate grain with HP5+ more than it does with Tri-X or T-Max 400. Link to comment
lex_jenkins 13 Posted February 19, 2015 Info from this article indicates I misread the sign on the club door at Emo's in Austin, Texas. The lineup included "The Casualties", "The Forgotten", "Offenders" and others. This photo was taken in March 2002, which coincides with the date and info in that article when the Austin punk band "The Offenders" reunited for that gig at Emo's. Unfortunately I didn't go inside to watch the show, I was just wandering around Austin snapping street photos that night. Link to comment
