neciphoto 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks They are insects about 2 or 3 inches long also known as a Damsel fly or Banded Demoiselle. There were blue and green versions I have a blue one also in my portfolio. Link to comment
carlwakefield 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Super shot and incredable what you can shot with camera lens combination. Lets you shoot shots where you often don't have time to get close enough with a macro lens:-). Who needs a macro lens. I was try looking at what I can do with my 70x200 and 2xextender. Great Colour tones contrast and background effect, just fantastic. Detail very good. Makes a great picture. Link to comment
neciphoto 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks Carl yes I agree for non microscopic macro's a good telephoto lens with a converter and extension tube will get you reach to the shy insects that macro lenses can't. I couldn't have taken this with a normal macro lens as the insect was inaccesible. it was almost 2 metres away. Also it was using AIservo focus to compensate for the movement of my equipment and slight wind at the time. Focusing/tracking on these lenses are really very quick. Link to comment
