jplace 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Per some suggestions, here is a second try. Thanks for the comments, JP Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 1, 2008 I did not see the first one. I am not into bird shots. Seen one, seen them all. This one is different. It has a story and It is the eye contact (owls are different). So many portraits have passed me by on critique that those too, seen one, seen them all. I think you should submit to portraits. I do not see anything really wrong with that. I did not rate, I do not know about birds; they are not my field; but unofficially I'd guess 6 Link to comment
jplace 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Meir, Thanks for the comments. I do appreciate them as I also appreciate that you do not rate birds because that isn't your thing. I wish more people would critique or rate fairly with a critique instead of just giving 3/3 because they don't like that type of photography. Thanks, JP Link to comment
matman1975 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Brilliant portrait, one of the greatest I have seen lately! Extremely sharp with rich detail and warm beautiful colors. Excellent effort Justin, greetings from Greece Link to comment
david hemmings 0 Posted June 1, 2008 Hey Justin, birds are my thing and this is a wonderful capture, well composed and well exposed, with the rain adding another dimension. The only thing I would do is use some noise reduction on the background. I do not agree with with Meir Samel's comments about bird photography "I am not into bird shots. Seen one, seen them all" I find that somewhat offensive. The same could be said about the portrait photography of people that he specializes in. I see nothing exciting about looking at a picture of a stranger looking blankly into the camera or having a coffee at a cafe somewhere in the same old balck and white...much more boring than the color and variety of birds. To each their own as they say though. Link to comment
knobby6 1 Posted June 1, 2008 I vigorously second Davids comment. That statement 'seen one you seen them all' could be said about all photos. I like the cropped version better. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 1, 2008 David, as for seen one seen them all,I feel the same way about dinosaurs. I probably should have said squirrels but that would also offend someone. Thank you for the entertainment. -Monte too. Link to comment
