christopher_may 0 Posted February 21, 2001 Wow! I like the contrasting themes. What a dramatic shot! Excellent! Chris Link to comment
allan engelhardt 0 Posted April 6, 2001 The tension is killing me! I LOVE your image -- well done! Link to comment
joshua_calvi 0 Posted April 8, 2001 Great shot! Perhaps a better scan would do this more justice. Again, a fabulous shot. Link to comment
scama 0 Posted April 13, 2001 it is great.a good and quality opera.i hope that is the original exposure, becouse the colour balance is a litle artificial, but if is real you have my congratulation Link to comment
matt_reeves 0 Posted April 20, 2001 I don't think this picture is excellent. Maybe it is the scan, but from my monitor: The front of the church looks washed out, overeposed. It seems out of focus, and the colors look unreal. Did you use Photoshop to alter it? Link to comment
eric_hartmann 0 Posted April 26, 2001 The subject is good, however, the church is overexposed and still there is no detail in the shadow areas. Link to comment
alisamudge 0 Posted April 29, 2001 It does almost look like a painting, but it's still a pleasing, dramatic shot. Link to comment
dick_stahlke 0 Posted June 3, 2001 I love this photo!!! The stark whiteness of the building set against the dramatic clouds combined with the rail fence create a wonderfully evocative image. I susp ect it is the scan/monitor, but I would like to see more detail in the white front of the church and steeple. Well done!!! Link to comment
loreneidahl 2 Posted June 6, 2001 Very dramatic effect. The stark white of the church provides a dramatic counterpoint to the looming mountains and shifting clouds. A very surreal effect. As has been stated earlier, it would be interesting to see if a little more detail in the church front augments or detracts from the overall effect. Link to comment
joachim_gerstl1 0 Posted June 9, 2001 In photography there is nothing as important as light. Imagine this shot taken on a sunny day. Be at the right place at the right time and push the knob. http://members.chello.at/joachim.gerstl/ Link to comment
luan_vo 0 Posted June 12, 2001 Good lighting, good contrast of dark background and light foreground. Link to comment
ash_mills 0 Posted June 18, 2001 What a perfect moment to be holding a camera. The post production however lets it down- it's basically "overcooked" from www.ashmills.com Link to comment
juanio 0 Posted June 20, 2001 The contrast is amazing. I can almost feel the electricity in the air! Link to comment
www.philwinterphotography. 2 Posted June 20, 2001 I like the shot, and generally agree with the other posts regarding exposure. The building's backward lean bothers me. One thing you might consider "next time," is to include more foreground in front of the building, so that the film plane is more in parallel with the building. The lines will be straighter. However, I like the shot. You were fortunate to be there at the right time. Link to comment
chris_whaley 0 Posted June 30, 2001 Awesome...full of emotion and tension...great job. Link to comment
abarak 0 Posted July 7, 2001 My feeling is that the JPEG compression has been pushed a little too much on this one, distortion is noticeable around the edges. Other than that, I really like the photo. Link to comment
amy_hoy 0 Posted July 23, 2001 I think its element of non-reality is neat. A photo is nothing if it can't make a statement, even if it has to be "enhanced" (think of all the "hokey" stuff Ansel Adams did in HIS darkroom!). The JPEG compression is really bad though.Chunky chunky chunky... I like my peanut butter chunky not my pictures :) Link to comment
radoslav_din 0 Posted August 30, 2001 i agree with ash mills, the contrast has been pumped up WAY too much in the darkroom (or photoshop), which makes the facade of the church flat and strips the shadows of detail. it looks like the environment had enough contrast and drama already. a great shot which is unfortunately made to look "fake" after the fact. moti_shitrit 0 Posted September 6, 2001 the photo is brilliant.the backround and sky are playing agood role in the picture and adding dramatic effect in contrast to the white church. Link to comment
rsriram 0 Posted September 28, 2001 Dramatic shot, lots of tension. The church is overexposed, though. Link to comment
