starvy 7 Posted May 28, 2008 mahen, i really like this. i have been trying to work out what it is that i like so much about the photograph but can't really pinpoint it. perhaps it is the rather sad forlorn expression on the face of the child. there is something beautifully innocent and honest even in his poverty ridden garb. perhaps it is the contrast between that sense of innocence and poverty that makes it so appealing. compositionally this is very good but i personally would have preffered a little more sharpness on the face. the eyes and parts of the hair is sharp so i assume you had used the lens wide open, as the 100 asa fuji superia would necessitate. there appears to be slight discolouration towards the lower end of the picture. is the negetive faulty or the scanner was not quite calibrated correctly? apart from those minor issues, i think this is quite excellent. so well done. mahen 0 Posted June 3, 2008 A big Thanks Starvy, Naseer, Syalji and Julio, for your views on the the picture. This picture is of a proverty striken boy at a tea estate. We had conversation for few minutes....he does not go to school, but his brother does. He said he is not interested in studies, his parents work for others!! He really is innocent and lovely. Starvy, might be no calibration was done when 'they' printed this picture. .....I feel that the eyes of the little boy have been able to touch you all. Regards Mahen Link to comment
