rluening 0 Posted May 27, 2008 ... are these three consecutive photos, or are they from different climbs. The climber seems to be carrying a couple of quickdraws as he transitions to the roof, but they've disappeared as he approaches the lip. Also, was this a free solo, or did you photochop the rope? Good image, overall. I spent this weekend climbing and shooting, Time to start processing photos... /rl Link to comment
wilkesmann 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Ah yes, you are right Ryan, you got me! The first image is from his first (failed) attempt at the climb and the second two are from his succesful ascent. Well noticed, you may also have spotted he has a helmet on in the first? Something I didn't notice during many hours in photoshop until I flattened and saved. :). I am planning to go back and do it again but havent brought myself to do it yet. And yes, I also took some licence in removing the rope, as 3 different sets of rope would have ruined image. However, look closely and you might also notice there are no clothing lines, due to the fact that apart from climbing shoes and harness (and helmet in first image), he lead climbed this route in the nude! soniam 6 Posted July 2, 2009 Incredible image. Perfect exposure and even with the incredible scenery I cannot take my eyes off the silhouettes. Superb Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2009 wowza what a great shot! the composition is really good, and the scenery is breathtaking. the only thing for me that i would personally like better is the removal of the black frame, or at least the removal of the white frame within the black on. ive never really preferred frames like that, but that is a minor matter of personal taste. the image for me otherwise is wonderful :) Link to comment
