sharif 0 Posted September 6, 2002 Very nice backs! Well exposed. I especially like the skin tones what the light makes the hair look. If the feet were in the frame it would have been a truly excellent shot - in my honest opinion. But its very good and full of atmosphere as it is. Congratulations. Link to comment
vuk_vuksanovic 0 Posted September 7, 2002 Thomas. Most shots from behind seem to say more about the timidity of the photographer than the scene itself, but here you've successfully broken the rule. Congratulations. The interplay between country fence and off-the-shelf evening-wear (so off-the-shelf, it was probably sewn by "mom") is brilliant and a great bit of fin-de-siecle documentary. If only you'd shot it on proper B&W film I would have paid a rather hefty price for a conventional darkroom print. Link to comment

graham_heathcote 0 Posted March 20, 2003 I love the light in their faces, it provides a wonderful glow around them. Excellent shot. Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted February 3, 2004 Nice collection of ladies' backs. There is a cinematic appearance which I like, and the fact that you can see at least one smiling adds a lot and sets the mood. The back light (well, here it's a front light actually!) is excellent. However, since you could not include the full heights (which might have been possible with a vertical framing), I advise you to crop some 20% of the bottom and the fence post on the right to concentrate on the hairdos and backs of these young women and to make it clear that excluding the feet was a deliberate compositive choice.
