I wonder would a fill in flash have improved it. The shadows on the face should be there, but not so strong because it leans to a common picture for souvenir. I'm not quite sure, but the fill in flash could be controlled so it must be possible to get the result one wants after couple of tries with different values of the flash intensity!

I like the Medievel feel you've created with this portrait. She definitely has the look of a Medievel damsel...excellent composition, I like how you incorporated the tree blossoms...very warm natural lighting, and nice blurred background. Very nice job.
